advice for family cooks

To all home cooks on Thanksgiving US: remember my mom's technique. She was a pretty awful cook, and when we complained, she said:

"I LIKE IT THAT WAY"

This is how I ended up needing my pot roast really burned. But it's a good approach. Underdone carrots, charred turkey leg, lumpy potatoes? "I like it that way."
